Who is behind Southend Panel & Paint? Southend Panel & Paint is owned by Darryl Taylor and was setup in Timaru, South Canterbury in 2003.
The Company boasts the biggest bake oven from North Otago to South Canturbury, nine metres long and 3.5 metres high. Big enough for any American tank! Darryl served his apprenticeship and the follwing working years in classic restoration and custom painting.
We specialise in restoration or custom rrebuilds of classic cars, truck or street rods and classic motor bikes. Our focus is total, every nut and bolt rebuilds. All projects are built with the highest quality, taking satisfaction in performing the finest workmanship on your pride and joy (no ont your wife, but your vehicle!) We are the restorers for you. We are members of the MTA so all work is fully guaranteed.
At regular intervals we provide our customers with :
work completed invoices
time summaries
labour records
digital ohotos of repairs and progress provided on disk
Each project has a labour price estimate only. Why estimate and not a quote? There are manyt obstacles and factors involved in custom build and restoration. To quote labour on a prject could leave both parties dissatisfied, so it has become a matter of policy that we do not provide quotes and do not accept budget projects. Instead, we simply charge for the labour and materials it tool to do the work and seek you, the customer’s approval and involvement as the project progresses.

We pride ourselves in keeping your project in progress and no project is put on the back burner for any reason. You will not find your vehicle sitting gathering dust because we have lost interest or because we realise the we have bitten off more than we could chew.
We also have available and inhouse motor builder specialist as an added service.
